ACADEMY HILL NET-ZERO HOUSE Workby Copley Wolff Design Group 07 September 2023 Where People Build Houses: Where People Build Houses Locate in the center of Boston, Copley Wolff Design Group clustered the 'My Work' task displaying a fantastic bloc of design as well as workability in scenery design. A complete makeover of a residential outdoor area to an urban retreat for your home and making sure the backyard landscape is blended with its architecture well. The includes a selection of native plantings that will support local biodiversity with minimal upkeep. We used reclaimed granite for the patios and walkways, enhancing the longevity of the materials, along with durability, sustainability, and beauty. Rich with a breathtaking water feature providing a soothing soundtrack for peace and tranquillity. The site has limited space and a differential level being one of the major challenges we faced. Through terracing, our solution increased the amount of usable space while maintaining interest with layers of planting beds. By being purposeful, we were able to create visually separate zones: an entertainment area, a still and quiet nook as well as a garden that changes colour with the seasons. The end product is a beautiful landscape that the client never imagined they would get. This next outdoor space shows how the hardscaping and softscaping blends beautifully together with the lighting to create an inviting retreat. The client can now use their backyard 365 days a year, throwing parties or just relaxing in a natural environment, adding their part towards the green coverage of Boston.
