This paradigm shift was implemented to not only improve stormwater management but also for establishment of green, diverse habitats imbued with local landscape. When beginning the , CARBO had the challenge of incorporating functional rain gardens into an existing wooded area. By working closely with environmental specialists, the team chose a mixture of plants representative of the local landscape, such as Louisiana irises, ferns, and sedges, to establish a simple and beautiful area that adapted well in the climate. Permeable pavers, organic mulch assisted in sustainable drainage system creation that curtailed runoff and gathered groundwater recharge system; thus further enabling post treatment and reuse. The design was precise with bio-swales to contain excess rainwater where it fell, and pathways to prompt walks through the lovely enviros around the gardens. In naturalistic scrubs formed, work materials reclaimed wooden is used with edges as concrete natural stone was further added to the rustic charm while maximizing the foot by reducing ecological. The CARBO team faced challenges associated with soil composition and drainage patterns over the course of the . With their experience in site analysis and adaptive design, they overcame these challenges to create a thriving watershed landscape that strategically retains, absorbs, and uses rainwater. The end product is nothing less than a spectacular woodland sanctuary which not only fulfills the clients wish but also acts as a hub for sustainable gardening education. It has turned into a beautiful community space that has drawn in local wildlife and given residents a peaceful place to visit in the Woodland Rain Gardens.
