Driveway, Wall, Re-Landscape Project - Lexington, Mass

DRIVEWAY, WALL, RE-LANDSCAPE , LEXINGTON, MASS We are delighted to present the work we recently completed in Lexington, Massachusetts: the 'Landscaping Driveway, Wall, and Re-Landscape ' by Garden City Landscape. The functionality and aesthetics of the existing areas were designed to create a welcoming and beautiful space for the client. Initially, our team took a good look at the existing driveway that had cracks and unevenness, resulting in damage and an unwelcoming access. We selected higher end permeable pavers because they were low maintenance and more natural looking and they allowed the necessary drainage, which is absolutely necessary in the New England climate. Right at the edge of the driveway, we installed beautiful granite blocks quarried nearby to create a retaining wall. The addition of this feature provides reinforcing as well as a wonderful contrast to the lush greenery that envelops it. We added soft curves to the design of the wall to help break up the hardscaping and allow the wall to fit into the existing landscape. The grade of the property was sloped and sheltering the entire foundation year prepared heavy burden of water piled out of foundation around exposed shore line all who each day walk on their toes. Through the use of innovative grading strategies to shape the flow of the water and avert erosion, our team ensured that the would stand the test of time. We also carefully incorporated native plants and low-maintenance shrubs to be aesthetically pleasing year-round, adding texture, color, light and shade, while contributing to the local biodiversity. The outcome was nothing less than awesome. A sweeping driveway provides an entrance that is both graceful and aesthetic and the granite wall creates a dramatic point of interest, almost like a beautiful picture frame to this home. Now the re-landscaped zone overflows with blossoms and plants, providing the client with an outdoor garden hideaway to enjoy the change in seasons.
