Summary: Walk Way by Charleston Creative Outdoor Solutions Charleston Creative Outdoor Solutions is an outdoor design/build organization dedicated to creating outdoor environments that are visually appealing and functionally correct while also enhancing the natural beauty of our clients' properties. "Walk Way," our latest , showcases our ability to be creative and showcase the quality of our work. Located in downtown Charleston, this involved designing and constructing an attractive pathway that connects the main entrance of the home to the oasis in the backyard. The client wanted a pathway that was welcome, attractive, easy to walk down, and would be the centerpiece of the garden since it was being put in as a process of the home renovation. To achieve this rustic but refined look, we used quality materials (including locally sourced flagstone & colors of decorative gravel to make a nice driveway into their yard. We wanted organic shapes of flagstone, which enhanced the adjacent landscape, and properly used gravel because it breaks down quickly, is easy to maintain, and provides proper drainage to the path. We also placed native plants beside the path, along now to decorative lighting, which added visual appeal during both daytime and evening. One of the other challenges we faced was existing issues with the terrain, which required creative solutions to ensure a stable and even walking surface. This was overcome using a solid base and proper grading to provide a finish that is aesthetically pleasing, but also safe and practical for year-round use. The end result is a beautiful walkway that invites guests to explore the lush environment. The clients were extremely pleased with the transformation and mentioned how much time they spent outside because the pathway had "become part of the outdoor living experience."
