Front Entry Steps and Walkway by Valley Deck & Patio Valley Deck & Patio proudly shares our recent landscaping 'Front Entry Steps and Walkway.' The purpose of this was to not only enhance the curb appeal of the home, but also create an attractive and safe entrance. Following initial discussions of the client's vision, which included a personal touch to the home, we could begin planning the for the communities we serve including Brooklandville, Catonsville, Columbia, and beyond. After our initial conversations we scheduled a meeting to carefully plan together with our client. The final layout of the steps to the front door consisted of several picturesque front entry steps with the natural beauty of bluestone that will weather well over time. The surrounding area of the entry steps was a custom-designed walkway with interlocking pavers that were an aesthetically pleasing pattern, but were also safe to walk on in inclement weather. We were faced with the challenge of working with the uneven existing landscape. Our experienced team was very good at making sure the area was graded appropriately to ensure the new steps and walkways would be safe, usable and visually appealing for many years to come. We also thought ahead the drainage of water near the walkway to eliminate erosion and maintain the transition from walkways, planting beds and the existing landscape. In the end, we achieved an incredible transformation that exceeded the client's expectations. The bluestone steps bookended with perennial plantings on each side served as an entrance focal point that engaged with the architecture of the home. The new walkway offers accessibility, but it also engages visitors to interact with the beautifully maintained garden space, including seasonal color. The final results of using quality materials with quality craftsmanship added tremendous value to the property while achieving the goals we set out at the beginning of the . The client expressed that the entry was now very beautiful and safe.
