ALLURING HILLSIDE by Elite Landscape & Outdoor Living Located in the beautiful landscape of Castle Rock, Colorado, the landscape design company Elite Landscape & Outdoor Living took on the challenging hillside, 'ALLURING HILLSIDE'. This large-scale renovation converted a steep and erosive hill into an extraordinary outdoor living area that combined nature and design. The renovation process began with an extensive site analysis where Elite experts were able to assess the unique features of the landscape. How to manage erosion on the steep slopes was a challenge for the construction of the that we conceptualized through many layers of environmentally friendly retaining walls made of locally sourced natural stone! After creating a stabilization of the hillside, we muddled with design elements that would enhance the rustic nature of the structure. The design featured tiered garden beds, with a large selection of native plants that looked attractive in the Colorado climate. With colorful wildflowers and tough, resilient shrubs layered for dynamic effect we engineered the planting beds to look like they were cascading off of the hillside! Seasonal plants, along with numerous perennials completed the planting plan, from which to have bloom in succession. The 'ALLURING HILLSIDE' appeal was the pond with a waterfall cascading from upslope. Not only did the waterfall create peaceful sounds as the water fell towards the pond, but it created an aesthetic and habitat for local wildlife. At the pond, a natural stone patio was installed along with an area to accommodate gatherings for family or quiet moments. Durable and sustainable materials were used throughout the , to combine both visual and functional impacts. From the hand-sourced rocks for the walls, to the Colorado Mulch in beds. The was complete on time and on budget, creating delight in the lives of our clients, who now look out onto the beauty of the 'ALLURING HILLSIDE' from their interior space!
