Franklin Road Landscaping by JSLA JSLA is pleased to announce the finished landscaping on Franklin Roada gold medal, excellent representation of our commitment to the communities we serve: Brentwood, Forest Hills, Franklin, Nashville, Oak Hill, Thompson's Station, College Grove and more. This speaks to our ability to produce beautiful outdoor spaces that are functional alongside aesthetics. This consisted of a total redesign of the front and backyard landscapes with a wonderful mix of native plants, beautiful hardscaping, and sustainable materials. From the beginning, we spent time understanding the layout of the land, specifically identifying any subtle drainage patterns as well as sun exposure so that every plant would be happy and thrive in its new home. We chose durable materials for the pathways, such as natural stone pavers and permeable gravel, to enhance the beauty but also help easily and sustainably manage water. One of the most challenging aspects of the was the steep slope. We were tasked with finding innovative large terraced sections to create usable, flat spaces to be used for entertaining and gardening. The JSLA team implemented a creative design by integrating raised garden beds with local timber, allowing the client to steadily grow their own vegetables, while enhancing the verticality of the garden. The included a soothing water feature with a lovely glassy creek, and calm sounds were offered through a small but vibrant water fall providing a very soothing effect while attracting local wildlife. To help the clients enjoy the space at night, we installed several energy efficient LED fixtures to illuminate the landscape while keeping them safe along the pathways. Everything came together to create an incredibly beautiful landscape that suited their lifestyle while bringing nature and the client together. The clients remarked how much they loved the space and look forward to gathering with their family and friends around their new outdoor landscapes, all while being in a soothing relaxing state.
