Expansive Perennial Cottage Garden | Nashville, TN The Gardens of Babylon Landscapes "Expansive Perennial Cottage Garden" in Nashville, TN balances nature and design perfectly to our client's vision. This garden boasts over 2,500 square feet filled with perennials including echinacea, black-eyed Susans, and lavender, all picked for durability and seasonal beauty. The meandering pathway created from locally sourced flagstone is a standout feature, leading visitors in and out of beautiful color and fragrance. The challenge of an uneven slope was leveled up as best as possible and was encased in some natural undulation to create a more organic design. This not only adds interest to the garden visually, but it allowed for better drainage of water and health of soil, both important to the plants' health. To add even more interest throughout the four seasons, we paid close attention to texture and heights of ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs that were thoughtfully placed for added structure. We also built a trellis for climbing roses that stood out as focal spot for the garden to draw-in pollinators, while also being an inviting place to rest and enjoy the view. Attention to detail is second nature seen in everything from the the eco-friendly mulch to help retain moisture to a drip irrigation system installed to conserve water while distributing moisture evenly for plant health. The end result is a spectacular garden that not only adds beauty to a property, but offers a peaceful spot for the homeowners to enjoy. Our clients could not be happier and now have a lively outdoor space that connects with their love of nature.
