Renovation of Kitchen - Cinco Ranch, TX Texas Urban Elements has an old tradition of turning the backyard and exterior into wonderful "oases," and the we did in Cinco Ranch, TX fits right in that description. The kitchen renovation included aspects of landscaping which not only provided a beautiful space but also served the purpose of functionality for our clients. We worked with an entire design of a custom built outdoor kitchen. The outdoor kitchen consisted of a set of granite countertops, an outdoor grill that helped with efficiency, and a newly built pergola, which helped provide shade. At the same time, we designed the outdoor kitchen to go with the existing landscape, while keeping the concept unified with the colors and floras characteristic of the Cinco Ranch area. The outdoor kitchen complemented and enhanced the existing landscaping, and to pull it all together, we brought in some locally sourced stone and materials and incorporated drought resistant plantings around the kitchen area. We chose native plants which provided a 'watered' and 'lush' feel to the overall atmosphere of the area. We made a conscious effort to unify our choice of colors, textures and materials to help provide a reciprocal appearance to the whole surrounding area. One of the challenges we faced was making the surface area level so that we could have an even area for the kitchen and dining area. Each member of our crew was tenacious and approached the challenges creatively, making sure we agreed on drainage to prevent pooling or drowning of our natural plants which then reduced plant longevity. Overall, the space turned out beautifully and really exceeded our clients' expectations. Not only was functionality and beauty provided, but they felt it provided the space needed for family gatherings and entertainment, surrounded by nature and beautiful landscaping. Our clients shared how much they enjoyed the kitchen and how it transformed their yard into their happy space!
