Side Yard Makeover - Bonanza Road, Gilbert Dream Retreats Landscape is proud to unveil our beautiful Side Yard Makeover for our clients in Gilbert on Bonanza Road. This was a great example of our commitment to quality and creativity and demonstrates our ability to design and install landscapes. When we first viewed the side yard it had significant challenges such as elevation change and a lack of sunlight which did not allow traditional landscaping methods to flourish. We began the by leveling the side yard and grading for future drainage and accessibility. Then we installed a collection of native plants that are fitting for the local climate, such as bright colored desert marigolds and durable agaves creating a great low-maintenance, yet lush environment. The next part was to create a pathway that meandered through the side yard connecting the front and back yards. The pathway was installed out of locally sourced flagstone providing a functional element, of course, but also creating an opportunity for beauty and exploration. We also installed custom built raised garden beds made out of cedar which will enable our clients to have an organic vegetable and herb garden which is both productive and beautiful. We installed a stand out drip irrigation system to provide a water efficient and nurturing home for our specially selected plants. The drip irrigation system allows for consistent water to the plants but also finds a way to conserve water with the low flow system which is ideal for the all too familiar Arizona climate. The result was a stunning side yard that found the balance of function and beauty. Our clients were elated with the transformation from their barren and unimpressive side yard to a new usable, bountiful and stunning area. The attention to detailfrom plant selection to hardscapingreflects Dream Retreats Landscape’s reputation for quality design.
