Birch Hill Landscape & Design LLC’s Before & After s Birch Hill Landscape & Design LLC is proud to transform outdoor areas into beautiful landscapes that offer beauty and function. The Before & After s are a display of our commitment to quality and creativity while we serve clients in the Greater Hartford area and beyond, from our base in Newington, Connecticut. This started with a neglected, overgrown backyard that had little shape or interest. The client requested a peaceful oasis for family gatherings and lovely evenings spent outside. The property had many challenges, such as an unlevel property with bad drainage, all of which we overcame by expertly grading the property and implementing a full drainage system. Our team chose materials that would be durable and created a beautiful patio using stone from a local quarry. To define the edges of the patio and create a strong wall, we used block to create a beautiful retaining wall, along with a cascading stone wall around the patio. We selected a variety of native plants that would have beautiful color all year and look great while being low-maintenance and good for the environment. The finished product is a lush, welcoming retreat with a patio large enough to entertain a crowd, beautiful flower beds, and a strategically located fire pit that became the focal point of the yard. The client was extremely happy with the attention to detail and how we seamlessly blended the hardscape elements with the softscape materials to create a cohesive feel. The is a great example of our commitment to transforming outdoor surroundings into complete landscapes, overcoming challenges, and exceeding expectations.
