The Southside Place by Texan Landscape Group LLC At Texan Landscape Group LLC, we are dedicated to creating outdoor areas that translate into exquisite landscapes, improving the enjoyment, beauty, and functionality of the home. The Southside Place , located in the heart of Houston, demonstrates our strength in quality and detail in servicing the surrounding areas of Barker, Baytown, and more. This was a complete landscape renovation for a charming residential property. Our team utilized a very unique approach to develop a multipurpose outdoor space that served aesthetic beauty and the desired functionality. The phase of the that got the attention most was the hardscape installation, where we us various types of natural stone to create pathways that artistically brought visitors through a lush and varied garden space. We also installed a lovely patio feat the use of weather resistant materials that guests could use for elaborate holiday get together and family BBQs. One challenge we had to consider for the was the management for the existing drainage for the property and its neighboring properties. After analyzing the best approaches, we decided to implement a creative drainage system for the landscaping utilizing permeable pavers and bioswales strategically placed to manage water properly for rain and runoff, while avoiding flooding of the property and managing the over all health of the landscape. In the garden, we purposely selected native plant materials that required little to no maintenance and valued sustainability. In addition to soils for tolerating extreme Texas seasons, we chose flowering plants, ornamental grasses, and shrubs that brought year-round color and seasonal interest, while being resilient enough to withstand extreme crab weather common to Texas with each season. Finally, in the garden we implemented a water feature that integrates a beautiful and soothing additional of tranquility with its shallow pool and fountain amenities. Choosing to add a water feature was part of the plan in reducing city noise and creating calming sounds to engage and relax the historic setting during outdoor gatherings. The end product successfully integrated hardscaping architecture integrated with lush plant materials creating a delightful inviting oasis of relaxation. Our attention to detail and craftsmanship increased the curb appeal of the property and provided the family with a relaxing outdoor retreat for years to come.
