Nestled in the lively neighborhood of Wellesley, this outdoor retreat includes a gorgeous cedar wood bar, designed to last while providing a touch of nature that complements the scenery around it. Working alongside our client and hearing of their aspirations for a space suitable for entertaining friends and family. We faced many challenges, from waterlogged soil to rough, uneven terrain. Our experienced team quickly found the best means and methods." We had to grade the site while keeping the gentle slope that exists and with a careful attention to maintaining the right slope to ensure no rain ever reaches the bar which was made to be dry all year around. The bar is bordered by sophisticated stone countertopsalso made of local granitethat add a polished but practical surface for snacks and drinks. Built-in LED lights create a warm glow and ambience for evening events, while a custom pergola provides a shaded and covered area that is protected from the elements. We created a native plant and perennial garden all around the bar that would attract pollinators while also bringing more character and biodiversity to the outdoor bar. Careful choice of materials and plants is also in harmony with our philosophy and adds personality to the design. The end product is a stunning outdoor bar serving as the highlight of our client's backyard; ideal for summer get-together, and for when the coziest of evenings finally arrive.
