The Coastal Farmhouse project represents a stunning transformation of a Great Room in Rochester, NY, executed by Heather DeMoras Design Consultants. Tasked with modernizing the early 2000s space, the owners sought a fresh and inviting atmosphere that would enhance their family gatherings while reflecting their love for coastal aesthetics. The project began with an in-depth consultation to understand the clients' vision, which centered around creating a more functional area for TV viewing and socializing. To achieve this, Heather introduced a design that seamlessly blended modern coastal elements with the warmth of farmhouse charm. One of the focal points of the redesign was the outdated yellow brick fireplace, which was reimagined through the application of white wood panels, lending a more contemporary and airy feel to the room. This new fireplace design not only serves as a striking visual element but also harmonizes beautifully with the overall coastal theme. In addition to the fireplace transformation, the layout was meticulously planned using 3D modeling techniques, allowing the clients to visualize the space's potential before construction commenced. The furniture arrangement was optimized for comfort and accessibility, ensuring ample seating for family gatherings and creating an inviting environment for entertaining guests. The choice of soft, neutral tones complemented by splashes of coastal blue and green not only enhanced the room’s aesthetic but also evoked the tranquil essence of the ocean and tropical locales.
