Introduction: CONTEMPORARY COLORFALLS The 'CONTEMPORARY COLORFALLS' is a brilliant example of modern landscaping that blends function with artistry, installed by Elite Landscape & Outdoor Living. The completion of this located within the beautiful corridor from Aurora to Castle Rock and beyond, has successfully taken a plain yard and converted it into a blissful retreat. The most noticeable aspect of 'COLORFALLS' is the gorgeous water feature that spills over natural stone tiers. The sound of the water moving is calming and peaceful, similar to relaxing by a mountain stream. Natural materials, like flagstone and slate are used locally to match a natural landscape and withstand exterior forces. Surrounding the water feature is a selection of native plants, ornamental grasses, perennials, and flowering shrubs, selected to add color and minimize upkeep, which will shine throughout the season. One of the challenges of the was the slope of existing terrain, which was steep, requiring some engineering to deal with the slope. The design team created a retaining wall from reclaimed timbers that not only integrates with the landscape but holds the hillside stable and prevents erosion. There is an underground drainage system, exceptionally efficient and responsible, put in place to protect the landscape from heavy rain and manage any erosion that could happen. 'COLORFALLS' is an inviting retreat to unwind and reflect. Clients were happy with their new space that connected to nature and seemed to get better views from every angle. 'CONTEMPORARY COLORFALLS' is an outdoor space that was designed to socializing or just kicking back and relaxing, with lounge chairs facing the water feature and appropriate, indirect lighting to support any evening activities. Elite Landscape & Outdoor Living is proud to have been able to illustrate this vision and further demonstrate that with a little creativity, skilled craftsmanship, and attention to detail, any outdoor space can become the personal paradise we all dream of.
