Our clients embraced the opportunity to create their dream home within a vibrant cohousing community, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views and expansive, park-like grounds. The three-acre parcel they acquired features panoramic vistas of Furnace Mountain, providing an idyllic backdrop for their vision of a sustainable and inviting living space. The design of the longhouse and its accompanying Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) was shaped by a commitment to high-quality, durable materials and a keen focus on energy efficiency. The compact, linear form of the house is a thoughtful response to the site parameters, as the buildable area is a narrow strip adjacent to the community road. This layout not only maximizes the use of the land but also fosters a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors, enhancing the living experience.
