The Frontenac, MO Stone Pavilion is a remarkable 22’x20’ structure that transforms the concept of a traditional screen porch into a refined outdoor retreat nestled within a lush backyard. While pavilions are typically open-air, this design incorporates expansive screens in its openings and doorways, allowing for a refreshing breeze while effectively keeping insects at bay. This thoughtful design consideration makes it an ideal haven for enjoying even the rainiest of spring days. Crafted with a robust 4” thick concrete slab, the pavilion features a beautiful flooring of natural stone veneer that enhances its aesthetic appeal and durability. Four sturdy tumbled stone piers with limestone bases anchor each corner, seamlessly supporting the carpentry framing that connects them. The crowning feature is a vaulted truss ceiling, which not only elevates the visual grandeur of the space but also contributes to an open and airy feel. The installation of 40-year roofing shingles ensures long-lasting protection against the elements, while a strategically designed gutter and downspout system guarantees that both the structure and its occupants remain dry. Inside, the pavilion is equipped with full electrical wiring and plumbing hookups, providing versatility for various uses.
