Burr Landscape and Design Inc., with many s being listed on beautiful Connecticut. Operating from the Hartford, Connecticut, office, we serve clients across the whole of Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island; and are firm believers that outdoor environments should be beautiful, playful, and conducive to everyday life. We undertook a complete redesign of a large garden area for a house with very boggy ground and a lot of slope to deal with. The landscape architects created a solution that contained terraced planting beds, boulders placed strategically to minimize soil movement, and a French drain system that allowed for adequate water management and safe landscaping aesthetics. We used native materials, a diverse plant palette of natives, drought-resistant perennials and seasonal cut flowers, providing year-round color and texture. To facilitate visitors from one garden zone to another, we laid elegant stone pathways that complemented the natural landscape as well as facilitated movement. At the center of the design lies a mirror pond occupied with koi fish, surrounded by beautiful greenery and shrubbery, a peaceful retreat for the owners. We added ambient lighting that accentuates important features of the space while making it more enticing to be in during the evening. When we were done, the transformation far surpassed their expectations, creating a garden oasis in the back of the house where none had existedonly an underutilized part of the backyard. The quality of our craft and the attention to detail shows in a landscape that not only improves value but allows you to escape or bring the family together. This beautiful garden is just a testament to D.W.
