About This Project

The Sloped Ceiling Kitchen and Den project in Fishers, IN, redefined the living experience within a once-dated space. The original kitchen lacked functionality and style, failing to embrace the breathtaking lakefront view, while the den echoed the uninspired design of the eighties. Our team set out to transform these areas, merging contemporary aesthetics with the natural beauty of the surroundings. To begin, we extended the kitchen by approximately twelve feet, allowing for a more open layout that promotes relaxation and social interaction. This expansion included the installation of nearly wall-length windows that invite the stunning lake view to be a central feature of the space. The architectural challenge of altering the pitch of the roof provided an excellent opportunity to enhance the kitchen further. We took full advantage of this by incorporating skylights, which flood the area with natural light, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere. In terms of materials, we embraced a rustic design that complements the natural environment. The floor-to-ceiling stone on the new fireplace and entertainment wall serves as a focal point, blending warmth and elegance. Custom cabinetry, crafted from high-quality wood, enhances the kitchen's functionality while offering ample storage space. The choice of fixtures and finishes reflects a harmonious balance between modern utility and classic charm. The den received equal attention, with design elements that uplift the space without overshadowing its stunning views. The result is a cohesive flow between the kitchen and den, where every detail is thoughtfully curated to enhance comfort and style. The final outcome is a beautifully transformed area that invites family gatherings and peaceful moments alike, perfectly capturing the spirit of lakeside living. This project not only revitalized the home but also created a lasting impression, making it a true reflection of its picturesque surroundings.
