Moss Mountain Farm Moss Mountain Farm, designed by P. Allen Smith & Associates, has achieved a remarkable balance of professional landscaping and design in the middle of Little Rock. This transformed a large, open space into a beautiful and peaceful getaway while respecting the existing beauty of the Arkansas land. Our team faced distinct challenges with a sloping topography and a commitment to working sustainably. In addressing these challenges, our talented landscape architects organized a tiered garden, utilizing native plants and natural stone features that created stunning visuals and coordinated with Arkansas's landscape. This also reduced the carbon footprint of the farm. Notable features of Moss Mountain Farm include a beautifully arranged herb garden, colorful borders of flowers, and a water feature for sipping if and when local wildlife decides to visit. Using site-sourced stone and reclaimed wood affirms our theoretical approach to sustainable design. The placement of a vegetable plot that serves as a seasonal planting areas speaks to the overall functionality afforded by design that creates opportunities and possibly mandates, that you engage with environment physically. The finished product demonstrates a beautiful space achieved through extensive work with intention and process that aptly satisfies the client's asking for beauty and utility on site, quite effectively. The balance of form, color, and functional detail have exceeded the client's expectations and presented, most importantly, is a usable and beautiful space to now enjoy. As always, P.
