The landscape implementation beautifully mixes lush native plantings with the architecture of the estate while addressing sustainability. Southern Botanical, Inc. placed a strong emphasis on sourcing quality materials, including a variety of stone hardscapes and durable, outdoor, weather-resistant patio furnishings, to create usable spaces for relaxation and entertainment. The design incorporates beautiful natural stone walkways that guide the visitor through the exquisitely designed garden beds, rich with color from perennials and ornamental grasses that have been carefully placed, and designed in such a way to provide year-round visual interest on the property. As with any extensive landscape , one of the significant design factors is slope and drainage. One of the main challenges with this estate was the slope of the property; therefore, it required a creative application with regards to erosion control and keeping the aesthetic features intact. The Southern Botanical team worked seamlessly with the client to design and build a tiered garden utilizing retaining walls made of limestone sourced locally to create visually stunning terraces. The terraces served to augment the aesthetics of the space but also improve access throughout this beautiful estate.
