Front Stairs and Walkway by Classic Stonescaping & Gardens Classic Stonescaping & Gardens recently wrapped up a beautiful Front Stairs and Walkway where we made over the entrance to a lovely home in Northern Virginia. We work in places like Burke, Fairfax County, Arlington, and Alexandria, and enjoy being able to enhance curb appeal alongside functionality and durability. On this , we put in original stairs built from natural stone, while we constructed a walkway with unique elements made from interlocking pavers. While the mix of materials provides diversity to the installation, it also provides resistance against elements and longevity. We chose a warm, earthy color scheme with tones that coordinate with the surrounding landscape and effectively established a transition from the home to the garden. One of the more difficult considerations was the slope of the property. Our team, consisting of skilled architects, created a functional design that accounted for terracing (differential levels) to create safety (as the stairs could have been steep) while also protecting against erosion during rains. This factor ultimately produced a seamless construction that is both beautiful and functional as a focal point. After considerable planning and construction, our team took time to ensure that every stone was rightly layered with a level of craftsmanship that we are proud of. The homeowners were so pleased to see being completely forgotten, and now have another excellent outdoor living space to enjoy. Now guests are welcomed as they approach the home down a lovely structured path that makes you want to travel through the lush gardens that lie ahead.
