About This Project

The Rambler Redeemed project on Mercer Island represents a stunning transformation of a dated, flat-roofed rambler into a contemporary sanctuary that harmonizes with its picturesque surroundings. Faced with the decision to remodel or relocate, the homeowners chose to embrace the potential of their existing property, taking advantage of its solid foundation and favorable location. This decision led to a comprehensive renovation that left no part of the main floor intact, as it was completely demolished down to the plywood substructure. The design vision for the home involved constructing two new floors, which feature a spacious Great Room on the main level designed for both family gatherings and entertaining, and a luxurious Master Suite on the upper level that offers a private retreat. This Master Suite includes a remarkable private view deck, complete with an indoor-outdoor fireplace, creating an inviting space for relaxation and enjoyment of the stunning surroundings. Throughout the renovation, careful attention was given to the materials and craftsmanship, focusing on sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The exterior showcases a trendy green wood finish that not only enhances the visual appeal but also complements the natural environment of the Pacific Northwest. The interior spaces are characterized by an open concept layout that maximizes natural light and fosters a warm, inviting atmosphere.
