The project began in 2014 with the vision of creating a comfortable home for one or two occupants, capable of operating off the grid while maintaining an inviting atmosphere. The design incorporates passive solar principles, maximizing natural light and warmth to reduce energy consumption throughout the year. Employing a super-insulated, vapor-open truss-stud construction method, the home achieves exceptional thermal performance, ensuring that it remains cozy in the winter and cool in the summer. The use of highly efficient European triple pane tilt-turn windows not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the residence but also significantly minimizes heat loss, further contributing to its net-zero capabilities.
