About This Project

Spencer Butte Residence LandCurrent Landscape Architects recently completed a journey with the Spencer Butte Residence, signifying our commitment to designing outdoor spaces that are both sustainable and beautiful. Our team worked in careful design and implementation of a rich and diverse landscape that complements the natural environment and incorporates native plantings, stone walkways, and a water feature as a centerpiece. The had some challenges with changing topography and soil conditions. We chose drought tolerant species and permeable pavers that could drain excess water and allow for more ecological sustainability for drainage issues. The outdoor living spaces were designed very thoughtfully, including a large patio with locally-sourced bluestone and a custom-built fire pit that encourage entertaining and family gatherings. The are found in the materials, such as the reclaimed wood for raised beds, and the natural boulders placed - all to create a seamless transition from the home to landscape. Overall, the planting palette added seasonal interest with blooms in different parts of the year, allowing for year-round color and texture. Finally, the result exceeded the client's expectations and changed the way they viewed their property, making it a joined part of their life that improved their quality of life. The Spencer Butte Residence is just another demonstration of LandCurrent Landscape Architects and what we can provide for our clients.
