Water Features by Lawns of Distinction Lawns of Distinction recently finished an incredible landscaping called "Water Features," which took place in beautiful West Michigan. The seamlessly integrates elements of nature into a peaceful sanctuary, providing the client with a relaxing outdoor space. The most attractive aspect of this is the large pond that the water cascades into. Our design team specifically chose to create a waterfall that would not only be visually appealing but would also nurture the wildlife that frequents the area. We used high-quality natural stone to form the waterfall, which was purposely chosen to match the existing surroundings. The pond itself was lined with a premium, eco-friendly liner that will last a very long time with little maintenance. The had some inherent challenges integrating the water features into the existing landscaped area, and the site had natural slopes. The planning and innovative engineering resulted in a balanced design that fits the existing landscape around the home and gardens. To enhance the sensory experience for day and night use, we added creative lighting in and around the water features. Lighting at night gives great dramatic visuals and lovely reflections off the pond water. Around the pond, we included various native plants and ornamental grasses that provide ^additional interest and diversity. The end result is a beautifully designed water feature to engage the senses of all who see or use it, including the client and their family. Feedback from the client is overwhelmingly positive and has commented that the water features transformed their outdoor living spaces into a tranquil oasis.
