West Woods Rd Pond & Stream - Hamden TJB-INC Landscape & Drainage Contractor is pleased to share this beautiful landscape , which is the successful completion of the West Woods Rd Pond & Stream in Hamden. This was a comprehensive landscaping that enabled an underutilized area to be changed into a tranquil water feature, improving the overall aesthetic and ecological value of the property. This included the creation of a beautiful pond with a gentle-flowing stream that was designed to fit within the existing natural topography of the landscape. Natural stone boulders were sourced from a local quarry and then used for the stream's banks. The boulders provide durable banks while still maintaining a rustic look. Native plantings, including native grasses and wildflowers, were selected to encourage local wildlife and biodiversity, creating a habitat. Part of the challenge for TJB-INC was managing the existing topography and ensuring proper water flow to prevent erosion. We utilized modern drainage systems and eelgrass erosion control to meet these challenges while ensuring the pond and stream would not have long-term stability issues. Disregarding the [physical] challenge facade was certainly what makes this a true landscape feature. It is not only beautiful to look at, but it also provides a peaceful recreation area for the homeowners, as well as the wildlife. To improve the enjoyment value of the , TJB-INC created seating in select areas and even set natural pathways leading to the edge of the water.
