About This Project

Moore - Rebuild Pond Damaged by Hurricane - Milford TJB-INC Landscape & Drainage Contractor took on the difficult Moore for repairing a treasured pond in Milford that was significantly damaged, like the rest of the area, by the recent hurricane. This extensive renovation was designed not only to rebuild the pond’s physical structure but also enhance its natural beauty and ecological parity. Our staff did an excellent job clearing debris and processing the extent of the damage, and restoring it all! We sourced high-end, locally obtained materials such as durable stonework around the rim and native aquatic plant species to facilitate sustainability and durability. We also included erosion control and a storm-resilient drainage system for future damage prevention. One of the hurdles we contended with was remediating the soil quality around the pond, which had been compromised. After carefully amending the soil and implementing bioengineered solutions, we were able to revitalize the surrounding landscape leading to a healthier plant community and even improved water quality! The end state is a multi-faceted, aesthetically pleasing pond that complements its surroundings, has a naturalistic shoreline, is teeming with flora, and a plethora of fauna. The client loved the result, and the new rebuilt aesthetics of their property enhances not only its design but also, the natural habitat for animal life.
