Swirskiiline biological control agent contains the predatory mite, Amblyseius swirskii. It is primarily used to control whiteflies and thrips but it will provide some reduction in other small pest species. In the absence of prey it can survive by feeding on pollen, allowing it to survive longer in the crop. They breed extremely quickly under warm, humid conditions. They will also survive in cooler night temperatures and through winter months in semi-protected crops. Amblyseius swirskii sachets allow you to establish a breeding colony of mites on the plants before the target pest is present. Mites emerge from the sachet over several weeks and in much higher numbers than a single broadcast release.
