Description
Syngenta Acelepryn G is a granular insecticide that provides season-long control of grubs and surface-feeding pests in one application. It operates quietly and safely and integrates well into contemporary pest‑management programs.
How It Works
Acelepryn® G acts on the muscles of insects as follows:
- The granules break down with moisture, freeing up the chlorantraniliprole into the dirt.
- The active ingredient is absorbed by roots of the turf grass and is then transported to the leaves and stems.
- After pests feed on treated turf, the chemical acts on their ryanodine receptors. This puts the brakes on muscle function, and pests stop feeding and die.
- The active ingredient remains effective in the plant for several months, providing lasting control without repeat applications.
Application Guidelines
Following label instructions always produces the best results:
Timing and Rates
- White Grubs: Apply 2.0–3.5 lb per 1,000 ft² in April to early June.
- Surface Pests: Use 1.5–2.0 lb per 1,000 ft² when adults are active or larvae are found.
Equipment and Watering
- Apply uniformly with a calibrated broadcast spreader.
- Apply 0.1-0.25 inch of irrigation to the turf within 24 h to activate the granules.
- Not for use on frost‑covered, frozen, or water‑saturated turf.

Safety and Precautions
Acelepryn G insecticide is a member of the chloronicotinyl chemical class of insecticides, which are effective on a wide range of insects, including caterpillars, grubs and ants, but is of very low toxicity to bees.
Personal Protective Equipment
The user should wear:
- Long‑sleeved shirt and long pants
- Chemical‑resistant gloves
- Shoes and socks
Re‑Entry Interval
Keep children and pets off treated grass until it is dry and has been watered in, generally within 12 hours.
Environmental Care
- Prevent absorption in sewers or streams into ponds or streams.
- Use according to label directions to protect pollinators and other beneficial insects.

Can it be used on all turfgrass types?
Yes. It is safe for cool‑season grasses (bluegrass, fescue, ryegrass) and warm‑season grasses (bermudagrass, zoysia, St. Augustine, centipede, bahia).
When will the turf look better?
Pest stop feeding in hours, and wounded grass starts to heal within days. A season of full protection lasts up to six months.
Is it safe around children and pets?
When used correctly and soaked into the soil, it is safe. Avoid touching the area until the granules have dissolved and the lawn is dry.
How does it fit into IPM?
Acelepryn® G should be rotated with other insecticides that belong to the different IRAC groups. Integrate chemical control with good turf culture like mowing, watering, and scouting.
