These upright-growing plants have finely-cut, feathery foliage with tall, dark blue spikes of double blooms. They start to appear in spring and early summer. Flowers are ideal for arrangements, borders, or along fence lines and walls.
Select sunny location with moist, well-drained soil and plant outdoors soon after the last frost. Where winters are not harsh, start in late Summer, and provide winter protection. Cultivate soil, enriching it with organic matter, and firm over seed, keeping it moist. Plants do not transplant well. Store seed in a cool, dry place. Heat and moisture can severely reduce germination.
