An attractive, tall plant with a lovely aroma. The leaves, immature flower tops and mature seeds are an essential pickling spice. This easy-to-grow productive herb will reseed itself if allowed.
Select sunny, protected location with well-drained soil and sow seed after last frost. Cultivate soil and enrich with vegetable food. Firm soil over seed. Does not transplant well. Support plants with stake if necessary. Separate seeds from heads by shaking loose in paper bag. Cut and use leaves at any time.
