Description
Wetsel Seed™ Bull's Blood Beet Seed
2g Packet
Known for its blood-red, deep purple color and sweet taste, the bull's blood beet is sweet tasting and is best when harvested early around 3 inches in diameter. The young leaves make delicious greens. Beets are very easy-to-grow and prefer cool weather, though they tolerate a wide range of conditions.
Select a sunny, well-drained location and sow seed as soon as the ground can be worked. Repeat at 3 week intervals until late summer. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth with rake. Great in containers and sunny flower beds. Firm soil over seed. Keep soil moist, weed free, and apply vegetable food every 4 weeks. Pull individual plants when roots are about 3 in./8 cm. across.
