This delicious, vitamin-rich vegetable is easy to grow, producing a very large head that is convenient to harvest. Plants are highly productive. Can be grown as spring or fall crop. Enjoy fresh or frozen, raw or steamed.
For early crop start seeds indoors in pots or flats 6-8 weeks before setting out. For later crop start seeds outdoors in a warm and sunny location after last frost. Sow fall crop 10-12 weeks before fall frost date. Loosen soil with a spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and water thoroughly. Firm soil over seed. Water regularly, feed every 4 weeks and protect from insects. Cut 6 in./15 cm. below central head when buds are still tight.
