Description
Wetsel Seed™ Straight Eight Cucumber Seed
1,000 Seeds
Named for its perfectly straight fruit, this variety is a very productive yielder and grows 6in to 8in long x 2.5in fruit. The fruit has smooth skin with a cylindrical shape and rounded blunt ends. It has a small seed cavity and crisp, fine-grained flesh that is known for its high quality and excellent flavor.
Select a sunny, well-drained location and sow seed in the late spring when the soil is warm, and all danger of frost is past. For earlier crop, start indoors 4-6 weeks before setting out. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth with rake. Firm soil over seed and keep moist. Keep soil moist, and feed monthly. Tie vines on trellis to save space. Pick at any size up to 6-8 in./15-20 cm. and before fruit color begins to turn yellow. Pick regularly so fruit will continue to form.
