One of the finest and most delicious small, storage squash varieties. The 6-8”/15-20 cm. fruit has sweet, thick orange flesh and stores well for fall and winter meals. Enjoy baked and served with butter and brown sugar. Select sunny location and sow seeds in the spring when the soil had warmed. Plants prefer fertile soil. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, working in vegetable food and organic matter, and smooth with a rake. Firm soil over seed and keep moist. Keep soil moist, weed free, and feed monthly. May be grown on a trellis. Allow fruit to remain on bush until skin is hard enough to resist scratching or puncturing. Pick before frost, leaving part of stem attached. Cure fruit for one week in warm, dry place and then store in cool place (45°-55°F) with low humidity.
