Description

CHRYSOLINE - 5L bag - 10.000 Individuals - The biology control product Chrysoperla carnea contains 10,000 active larvae of the green lacewing Chrysoperla carnea. This product is tailored for specialists in managing extensive crop fields. It provides four to five liters of volumetric dosing for greenhouses and open-field agriculture. With this increase in volume, It can effectively control soft-bodied pests like aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and mealybugs in greenhouses, nurseries, orchards, and open-field agriculture.

Biology and Behavior of Chrysoperla carnea

Chrysoperla carnea is among the most effective and versatile natural enemies used in pest control. The aggressive feeding phase is the larval stage, which consumes the pests for about 2 to 3 weeks before turning into a pupa. These “aphid lions,” as they are popularly known, have large sickle shaped mandibles used for chopping and devouring pests at lightning speed.

Each larva has the ability to kill and consume over 200 soft-bodied insects in their life cycle. Their wide breeding range alongside their capacity for high mobility means these larvae thrive especially for dispersed pests hidden in plant foliage and growth layers.

Target Pest and Control Scope

CHRYSOLINE- 5L Bag- 10,000 Individuals- Chryoperla carnea effectively manages large populations of pest species such as:

  • Aphid (all strains)
  • Whiteflies (early instar)
  • Thrips (young larvae)
  • Mealybugs
  • Scale insect crawlers
  • Mite larvae and eggs

Chryoperla carnea works well on outbreaks where a mix of several pests are present because of its broad host range. During outbreak situations, the aggressive feeding of the larvae makes them very effective.

Application Instructions and Usage Rates

The self-ventilating bag holds 5 liters and is ideal for manual or mechanical application. To use, shake the bag to suspend the larvae and mix with the carrier. Spread the crop positioned mixture from the infested area uniformly over the infested crop area. The application is most effectively done before and after peak sun hours.

Suggested application rates

Preventive: 5–10 larvae/ m² or per plant
Moderate infestation: 25–50 larvae/m²
Severe outbreak: 100 larvae/m²

Relative humidity should be above 60% and the optimum temperature should be 65-85˚F for maximum activity of the larval forms. Do not use any chemical pesticides a week before and after releasing the lacewing larvae to sustain their life.

Synergies and Compatibility of IPM

CHRYSOLINE - 5L bag - 10,000 Individuals - The chrysoperla carnea works exceptionally well within Integrated Pest Management (IPM) frameworks. It coexists symbiotically with beneficial mites, Amblyseius swirskii, parasitic wasps, and biological fungi. The larvae concentrate on active pest stages and do not compete for food with other control agents, enabling rotation and combination strategies.

This product not only supports direct predation but also through indirect measures of reducing repeat pesticide applications, enhances the long-term effectiveness of an IPM program. Its impact is non-disruptive to beneficial insects and pollinators, thus preserving the balance of the ecosystem.

Environments and Crops Suitable

The product works best for:

  • Vegetable crops: tomato, cucumber, and pepper
  • Ornamental flowers: rose, chrysanthemum, and geranium
  • Fruit production: strawberry, apple, berry, and citrus
  • Tree nurseries and foliage crops
  • Indoor vertical farms and Hydroponics

CHRYSOLINE - 5L bag - 10,000 Individuals - The chrysoperla carnea adapts well to greenhouse, field, and shade-house environments which make it ideal for growers across all scales.

Final Words

For infested growers or those requiring preventative treatments on large cultivated areas, CHRYSOLINE - 5L bag - 10,000 Individuals - Chrysoperla carnea is powerful and sustainable. The large quantity of lacewing larvae guarantees rapid coverage of extensive cultivation areas. This product enables less intervention and greater biological effect to help sustain a healthier crop system throughout the growing season due to its broad-spectrum activity, compatibility with other biological control agents, ease of application, and swift lacewing larval population growth.
