Description

ERETLINE - 250 Card - 15000 Individuals - Eretmocerus eremicus along with the two other Eretmocerus species are very beneficial for Eretmocerus eremicus is a preferred option for growers who need large-scale biological control of whitefly parasites for use on whitefly infestations. The product offers wide crop coverage for 15,000 distributed parasitoid wasps on 250 cards that are simple to deploy. Their population suppression is timely and effective. This system was designed for greenhouses and for other large commercial cultivation rooms like poly-tunnels and other efficiently automated cultivated areas.

All cards are equipped with parasitized nymphs that breed Eretmocerus eremicus, natural enemies of Bemisia tabaci and Trialeurodes vaporariorum. These biotic insects provide dual action through parasitism and host feeding offering diverse forms of support to the crop which ensures optimal growth and no chemicals residue.

The Biological Function of Eretmocerus eremicus

Parasitoid Behavior and Lifecycle

Eretmocerus eremicus is a very small whitish wasp about 0.6 mm long who is a specialist on whitefly prey with parasitic larvae. Females place eggs underneath the host nymph and the whitefly parasite larvae emerge from the egg and grow straddling the body.

They do have some other attributes beside parasitism because adult females also vigorously consume whitefly nymphs and thus help in immediate pest control. They are best active between 75F-85F which is when their feeding efficiency is the highest which enables good effect hot condition and heated structures.

Deployment and Application Methodology

Effective Use of the 250-Card System

ERETLINE - Beneficial wasps parasitize whitefly pupae which are loaded on each card. Each card is designed to cover larger areas. The beneficial wasps are able to sustain pest control for a sustained period of time.

• Cards should be placed within the canopy to achieve uniform distribution needed.

• Relatively Infestation zones (hot spots) should be supported with extra cards.

• Release does not occur in extreme environments (low humidity and covered from the sun).

• Suspension of cards must guarantee protection from crushing, dislodging and accidental disturbing.

Release should not take place right before or after engaging with pesticides. Works with organic programs as well as other beneficial insects.

Ideal Crops and Conditions
Targeted Crop and Climate Suitability

ERETLINE - 250 Card performs best in protected cultivation environments such as:

• In greenhouse settings for vegetable crops like tomatoes, cucumbers and eggplants.

• Flowering and bedding vegetation.

• Berries crops like strawberries and raspberries.

• Leafy greens simpli, herbs and salad crops.

• In vertical and hydroponic farms.

This product is very compatible with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) plans as it encourages the use of natural control and reduces the use of chemicals.
