CO2 As A Solvent:

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) extraction is a safe, clean, and effective method for extracting botanicals across various industries. CO2 is inert, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly, making it suitable for various applications. Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SCF) using CO2 offers advantages over conventional methods, including lower operating temperatures, higher selectivity, cleaner processes, and longer shelf-life of products.

Components Of CO2 Extracts:

Supercritical CO2 can extract lipophilic plant materials such as volatile molecules, triacylglycerides, tocopherols, and carotenoids. Depending on the plant material and extraction conditions, CO2 extracts may contain components similar to carrier oils, conventional extracts, or essential oils.
