Located in the heart of Nashville, this proved challenging, yet rewarding, as reworking a family outdoor space is what we find most fulfilling. The beginning certainly had its challenges, including steep grading and limited sun exposure with all the surrounding trees. Through thoughtful and innovative use of grading that provided proper drainage and flow, we embraced the challenge of the site. The team selected unique materials, locally sourced, that would stand the test of time. The '12|12' outdoor environment incorporates many features, including a custom stone patio made of natural flagstone that serves the home in a number of ways, mainly being a welcoming space to enjoy time spent with family and friends. Native plantings and perennial flower beds surround the patio as proud displays of color, texture, and diversity throughout the seasons. To further echo our dedication to sustainable practices, eco-friendly mulch and organic fertilizers surround the patio. A water feature with a gentle waterfall and koi pond adds a certain calm and relaxing presence to the space, inviting in local wildlife and creating an enjoyable retreat. Thoughtful lighting upon completion allows us to enjoy the outdoor environment any time of the day or night as we quietly soak in the atmosphere created by paths and features designed to showcase creative design. Overall, the result has completely satisfied our clients who now have developed an obvious affinity for their outdoor oasis that represents their life and future value to their home. This is precisely what The Greathouse Company LLC hopes to achieve and further increases our commitment to increase craftsmanship while also satisfying our clients who allowed us to explore new ideas.
