About This Project

Nightingale Brown House The Nightingale Brown House landscaping is presented by Searle Design Group, LLC in Providence, RI. This embodies the quality, creativity and client satisfaction that we strive for every day. We faced challenging slopes that needed a lot of thoughtfulness when designing, to ensure that it would function well and look beautiful. We chose a tiered garden-style landscape concept with natural stone walls to hold the steep hillside in place while adding rustic charm to the overall design. The upslope path we created is made with locally sourced bluestone, making it both elegant and durable while connecting the key outdoor rooms. Our plant palette was meticulously planned with perennial flowers, native shrubs and ornamental grasses, to ensure year-round color diversity, while providing habitat for our local ecosystem. Working with the landscape architects, we used sustainable materials wherever possible, such as reclaimed timber for raised garden beds. Additionally, to add architectural interest and aesthetics to the property, we created a peaceful outdoor retreat with a custom-designed patio, placing the fire pit in the center (surrounded by seating) to encourage the use of the space for relaxing and entertaining; turning the backyard into an extension of their indoor space. At the completion of the , the Nightingale Brown House clients were left speechless with the beautiful yet functional outdoor space. Our attention to detail and commitment to quality has turned this design into a moment of bliss, being able to exist in and enjoy nature as part of the design.
