About This Project

Handicraft Club Landscaping by Searle Design Group, LLC Searle Design Group, LLC is excited to share the Handicraft Club landscaping in the heart of Providence. This was intended as an outdoor venue that adequately balances function with aesthetics. The landscape design includes a variety of native plants that were purposely chosen for their sustainability, beautiful colors, and textures throughout the seasons. Stone pathways constructed with granite from a local quarry meander through the green area and finish in a gathering space with handmade wooden benches, providing a comfortable place to relax and socialize. One of the challenges we faced was the site's uneven slopes, which required terracing that was not only visually appealing but provided adequate drainage as well. Our team installed a comprehensive drainage system, using permeable pavers and rain gardens to manage the water runoff, in order to preserve the beauty of the site. The client also wanted to use materials that were ecologically sound and incorporated recycled materials as compost and organic fertilizer. The end result is a beautiful landscape that fulfills, and exceeded, the clients needs, as well as provided a treasured space where creativity and community can flourish for all members and visitors. The client was very happy with the end product as the combination of a functional and artistically beautiful outdoor area provides a happy oasis for all Handicraft Club members, and was a beloved addition to the community.
