Benefit Street Residence by Searle Design Group, LLC Located in the center of Providence, the Benefit Street Residence reflects Searle Design Group's passion for innovative landscape design. This involved the complete redesign of the outdoor area to balance function and beauty. The design was energized with high-quality native plants and a diverse palette of perennials, drought-tolerant shrubs, and ornamental grasses, which presents itself in a rich tapestry of color and texture through the seasons. A highly visible feature is the beautiful stone pathway constructed of locally sourced bluestone, which links the different areas of the garden and guides guests through the space. A custom cedar pergola, clad with climbing vines, creates a tranquil place to relax while accenting the architectural style of the home. The team met many challenges, including challenges to the site's topography and also existing drainage issues, which were prioritized through innovative grading and placement of a rain garden to improve stormwater management while enhancing biodiversity. The result is an inviting and harmonious exterior space that resonates with the homeowner's intention of uniting beauty with utility.
