We started with a consultation, where we discussed exactly what the client was looking for, and the subtleties of the property itself. So we meticulously designed the space to include native plants that require little to no water, low-maintenance hardscape materials, and intelligent irrigation systems. Using materials like natural stone walkways, decomposed granite patios, and sustainably harvested timber, we combined beauty and function with elegance. The design included an area to enjoy the outdoors with custom seating and back-lit stone walls to entertain, or enjoy in silence. There were soil challenges and of course the existing mature trees to be incorporated into the new layout along the way, but the end results speak for themselves. We overcame these challenges with the combination of the perfect plant selection to fit the climate and the thoughtful placement of hardscapes to accentuate the inherent beauty of the land. Because the section of the design fell short of my expectations the final result was a jaw-dropping unified landscape that actually exceeded our client deliverables. The vibrant colors, seasonal interest, and continuity from inside to out have created a retreat for the homeowners to enjoy.
