This landscaping was to complete a full redesign on a private estate while creating a peaceful outdoor retreat that is integrated with the incredible ocean views. We started with assessing the existing landscape, and we noticed that we needed one diverse design element to tie together some of the uneven terrain. A tiered approach was taken, and we included natural stone retaining walls to create the structural elements that would also lend an organic and rustic theme to the ultimate design. The design features indigenous plants, drought tolerant perennials, and appropriate hardscape materials. The paths through the landscape were constructed of locally sourced flagstone that not only adds durability but also encourages organic flow throughout the property. A majestic water feature is designed as a pond with a small cascade that acts as a centerpiece to the lush retreat. We planned the feature to facilitate local wildlife, while also providing serene sounds to facilitate the peaceful and tranquil experience one expects at such a piece of property. Our team was able to maneuver skillfully through the by working through limited access and establishing appropriate soil formations on this hillside. The water regulating systems were thoughtfully executed to support the growth of the landscape, while also using as little resource as possible to help promote the client's eco-friendly experience. The outcome is a landscape that is truly spectacular and is married to the more natural environment that the home sits within, and the homeowners are thrilled with the results and have praised the attention to detail and craftsmanship expected from a Campion Walker Landscapes .
