About This Project

Contemporary Southern Colonial East Shore, The Woodlands Moss Landscaping is excited to unveil the 'Contemporary Southern Colonial', a beautiful transformation located in the picturesque East Shore neighborhood of The Woodlands. Our overall goal was to create an inviting outdoor retreat that would marry the formality of colonial southern architecture with today’s contemporary landscaping trends. The was designed with a robust landscape configuration consisting of a stunning palette of ornamental and native planting to ensure ongoing beauty while supporting sustainability. Quality materials were selected based on their functional capabilities and their durability, such as natural stone used for pathways, and high-end hardwood for outdoor decking, which would support the overall outdoor living experience and complement the architectural style of the home. The existing topography posed unique challenges, and grading would be required to make site adjustments for water collection and drainage. Following best practice landscape techniques, our capable team constructed multi-tiered landscape beds with intentional visual interest and dimension in addition to addressing the topography issue of holding water around the home. Other focal pieces of the landscape design included a water feature that acted as a main centered element along with a sound element that drew both visual interest and relaxation from flowing water. Finally, outdoor lighting was demonstrated in sophistication highlighting key aspects of the landscape while providing safety in evening use. After completion, the homeowners shared their excitement the new oasis which created cohesion with the way of life they wanted to fulfill while enjoying the outdoor spaces incorporated in the overall landscape design.
