About This Project

The UNI by Old World Brick Paving The UNI is a labor of love, showcasing the skill and talent of Old World Brick Paving to convert a suburban setting into an amazing outdoor space. Serving all communities from Addison to Wood Dale, this had all aspects of workmanship considered, and we fully understood the client's vision. At the core of the UNI is an expansive patio made from beautiful, mill-selected Belgard pavers, to create a warm gathering space. Curved walkways beautifully connect the expansive outdoor space to lush garden beds that feature an abundant spread of native plants that are set to thrive in the climate while also promoting biodiversity. We utilized various hardscaping features, including an incredible fire pit surrounded by ample seating, to add beautiful elements for family or guest entertaining opportunities throughout the year. One obstacle we faced throughout the UNI was the sometimes steep and uneven terrain, which required innovative grading solutions to allow for proper drainage and stability. Our team could effectively level out the entire site to avoid issues with flooding or potentially washing away the landscape, while increasing the overall landscape sustainability and longevity. In keeping with the arc of environmental sustainability, we researched and sourced numerous eco-locally grown, plant materials in assuring that we met the client’s environmental landscaping commitment. In the end, the blending of hardscaping and softscaping compliments each other to produce not only what the client envisioned, but exceeds their expectations. With colors of brilliance in the garden, usable outdoor spaces, and a fun ambiance, the UNI has become an endless retreat space for the family, which indicates we met the commitment for quality workmanship and satisfied the client. The client was so pleased and thanked us for our dedication, explaining our work was definitely "beyond spectacular." The UNI demonstrates the ongoing mission of Old World Brick Paving towards constructing established, lasting and beautiful landscapes that enrich living space in their communities.
