About This Project

Hill Country Prospect 'Hill Country Prospect', located in the peaceful area of Texas Hill Country, is a landscape architecture designed by the world-renowned Studio Outside Landscape Architects. This substantial residential landscape integrates the beautiful nature of Texas Hill country with modern day outdoor living. The had a wide variety of Texas Native plants which were artfully chosen for their adaptation to the environment, aesthetic value, and resilience. The landscape incorporates drought tolerant plants such as purple sage and blackfoot daisy to become more sustainable and conserve water. The intentional use of local stone in the retaining walls and pathways throughout the site is a homage to the geology in the Hill Country. The stones will be there for years to come, providing a sense of permanence and an ideal substrate to cultures plants, while also bringing a ruggedness that reinforces the natural environment. One of the prominent challenges within the was its steep topology. Instead of shying away from the steep slope, the design embraced it and utilized creative also functional methods of providing space. The Studio Outside worked hard to incorporate terraced gardens and multiple levels of patios to enhance site accessibility, providing a landscape for the homeowner to enjoy and overlook the rolling hill country. To add to the soothing space, a cascading water feature was established in the ambient noises with the surrounding wildlife to provide a calm environment for the homeowners to enjoy. The final response perfectly blended the ideal landscape and architecture, an inviting space for entertaining and relaxing. The specific clients were thrilled with the transformation of the Hill Country Prospect and complimented the incorporation of spaces to enjoy family gatherings under the Texas stars on their spacious deck and my grand fire bowl. Studio Outside, at its best with quality construction and creative landscape solutions, has created a perfect example of modern landscapes while respecting the natural context of the Texas Hill Country in Hill Country Prospect.
