The nucleus of the is a carefully constructed garden of Texas plants, which not only thrives in the local climate, but collects a diversity of plant life. In this environment, drought-resilient plants, native grasses, and wildflowers congregate to make drought-resilient, colorful textures in and through each season. Courteous stone pathways of native limestone are directed throughout the property space and garden, as if to encourage the development of intention in the relationship between the home and nature. The most striking impediment was the topography of the lot, as the site was both steep and uneven. Studio Outside employed grading techniques to make tiered planting beds with proper drainage and visual interest. This approach not only found resolve for a possible water-runoff issue, but created enclosed and intimate outdoor spaces with the possibilities of private or family gatherings. Our feature water element with a small fountain offers a distinctive focus that matches the lushings and rhythm of the garden while providing tranquil sensory pleasures and soundscapes. The seating areasboth custom and natural woodare cozy nesting spaces with many options for family time while offering up hours and hours of contemplation and enjoyment of nature. The result is an absolutely stunning landscape that precisely captures the homeowner's vision with form and function.
