About This Project

Rio Afueras - Stack Rock Group - Landscape Architecture Located in the beautiful foothills of Boise, the Rio Afueras exemplifies a perfect balance of nature and design, designed specifically by Stack Rock Group. This large landscape reinvented outdoor living for our clients and helped distinguish their home in the breath taking Idaho landscape. We selected a diverse range of native plants, drought-tolerant grasses, and perennial flowers to create a beautiful garden for all seasons while helping the environment. To aid outdoor living, we designed a beautiful stone patio built from local granite, creating a perfect space for special gatherings or relaxation. A winding path of moss-laden river rock takes visitors through the garden of plants and blooms while adjoining lush greenery. One of our challenges for this terrain was the slope of the land. To address this problem, we integrated grading techniques to retain the natural slope of the land and lessen the erosive effects of rain. We utilized terraced gardens to direct drainage and create visual interest. We also designed a custom irrigation system to ensure efficient watering for the health of the landscape and the elimination of waste. Overall, the of Rio Afueras turned out to be a quiet retreat that combined function with elegance. The clients were very satisfied with the final results and commented on how the landscape improved the value of their property while being a private refuge for family and friends.
